How It Works

From first message
to filed and paid

No mystery and no chasing. Here is exactly what happens, in the order it happens.

  1. Getting started

  2. You reach out

A form here, or a phone call — whichever suits. We will tell you honestly whether we are a good fit, including when the answer is that you need less than you think. If we speak first, you may have a ballpark figure before anything formal begins.

  3. Your invitation arrives

If we are going ahead, an email invites you into the client portal. That is the last time anything about your finances travels by email.

  4. Setting up

  5. You sign in — properly

A password, then two-factor authentication, then a four-digit PIN of your own. The PIN is the one that unlocks sensitive material once you are already inside, so a borrowed laptop or a wandering eye gets a blurred screen rather than your return.

  6. Questionnaire and engagement letter

Both are waiting for you in the portal — fill in the first, sign the second. If we had already talked numbers, your estimate is sitting right beside them. Nothing is buried in a thread.

  7. The work

  8. Your task list

We send tasks rather than a wall of instructions. Some say "do this, then mark it done." Others say "upload this" — and completing the upload ticks the task off by itself, so nothing sits open because you forgot the second step.

  9. Questions, in both directions

The portal has encrypted chat that is genuinely live. Ask something at 9pm and it is there on our side the moment we look; when we ask you for a missing figure, it appears for you the same way. No email chains, no attachments, no wondering whether it arrived.

  10. We do the work

Once the tasks and uploads are in, the accounting begins. If something turns up that changes the picture, you hear it from us while it can still be acted on rather than in a summary afterwards.

  11. Documents come back

Anything finished lands in the folder it belongs in — organised by year and category, not dumped in an inbox. You get a message, or a task if there is something to sign or file.

  12. Staying ahead

  13. We reach out first

When something is coming — a filing date, a document we need, a decision worth making before the year closes — it arrives as a message or a task in the portal, and the portal nudges your email so you actually see it. You should not have to carry a filing calendar in your head.

  14. Invoicing and payment

When the work is done and approved, an invoice goes up in the portal. The email telling you says only that one is waiting — no amounts, no details, nothing worth intercepting. Payment runs through Stripe, so card details never touch our system.

  15. And we will see you soon

That is the whole loop. If we have done this properly, tax season has stopped being something you brace for. We would love for you to stay — which for most people means we will see you again next spring, and every month if we are keeping your books. Either way you will not be left wondering where things stand.
